Artist Aid Ukraine

June 2022

A remarkable £160k has been raised for charities through an exhibition in Glasgow, featuring works from 100 prominent British artists. Organised by John Davis, George Morris, Paul Doherty, Rosemary Beaton and 14 dedicated volunteers, many of whom also host Ukrainian refugees. The event supports families and children affected by the conflict in Ukraine.

Works by Andy Goldsworthy, David Mach, Barbara Rae, Peter Howson, and Sandy Stoddart, among others, reflect themes of resilience and resistance. Artist Stephen Skrynka shares his personal connection to the cause, as his father was a WWII refugee. Proceeds from the sales, with artists donating 60% to 100% of the artwork prices, have gone to the British Red Cross and OPORA.
